Tech Valley News Tech Valley Metros Among Best Performing The Milken Institute/Greenstreet Real Estate Partners Best-Performing Cities Index ranks the nation's metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth based on job, wage and salary and technology growth. Spurred by its high-tech growth, Glens Falls ranked 23rd and tops in the Northeast among small metros. Albany and Poughkeepsie were among the biggest gainers among large cities. With relatively strong job and wage growth, Albany moved up 66 spots to #72. Poughkeepsie skyrocketed 86 spots to rank one spot behind Albany. The city's high-tech growth was significant in its move up the rankings.
