Tech Valley News Tour of the Battenkill Grows for 2009 Learn more at Tour of the Battenkill Grows for 2009 Tour of the Battenkill bicycle race has grown from a day to an entire weekend since it debuted five years ago. This weekend's events - held Saturday and Sunday for the first time ever - features 1,800 participants for Saturday's junior, amateur, men's pro/Category 1 and women's pro/Categories 1, 2 & 3 races. Hundreds more will compete on Sunday. Overall, more than 40,000 spectators are expected to watch the races.
