Fishing

Get hooked on fishing in Tech Valley! Our lakes, rivers, streams and the New York Canal System are fantastic places to fish. Some small ponds are worth exploring as well. Find secluded spots along the shore and cast for small and large mouth bass, rockbass, bluegill, brook trout, rainbow trout, walleye, panfish, northern pike, blueback herring, coho salmon, yellow and white perch, pumpkinseed, channel catfish and crappie.

The Catskills collection of rivers and streams is considered the “Birthplace of American Fly Fishing” and provides ideal trout streams for the sport’s enthusiasts and beginners alike.

Also, Lake Champlain in the Adirondacks has been recognized as one of the top bass fishing destinations in the world.

To find fishing opportunities in Tech Valley, select Fishing from the Categories list on the right sidebar and search by region, county or zip code.
